A Soft, Sunny, Country Inspired Senior Session
As soon as I read Aly’s questionnaire, I knew her session was going to be SO fun.
She wanted photos that felt soft, light, airy, and colorful with a little country flair. Think summer flowers, sunshine in her blonde hair, flowy outfits, cowboy boots, and photos that felt natural instead of stiff or overly posed.
She also shared that she loved how natural my photos feel, the way I use the sun, and that I make people look like princesses, which was literally the sweetest compliment ever.
Aly was my first Class of 2027 Muse senior, so we got to create the full experience from start to finish.
First, we figured out the vibe
The Muse is for the senior who wants their photos to feel like them, not like they just picked an outfit, showed up somewhere, and hoped everything would come together.
Maybe you have a Pinterest board full of ideas but are not sure how to turn it into an actual session. Maybe you want help choosing outfits, finding the right location, or making sure everything feels cohesive once it is all put together.
That is where I come in.
For Aly, we started with her questionnaire and Pinterest inspiration. She was drawn to a field with flowers, horses, fences, stone walkways, and all the pretty summer details. Since her session was in June, we leaned into the florals, open fields, and bright colors that were already naturally there.
Her final vibe was soft, whimsical, sunny, and a little country.

How We Planned Aly’s Outfits and Session Pace

Aly came to me with a bunch of cute outfit ideas, including flowy dresses, pastel colors, cowboy boots, and a mix of dressier and more casual looks. Everything fit her soft, summery, country-inspired vibe, but we still wanted to make sure each outfit brought something different to the session.
With The Muse, there is no strict outfit limit. But that does not mean we need to cram in every single outfit just to say we did.
Instead, I help you decide what kind of session you want. Do you want lots of different looks and a faster-paced session? Or would you rather bring fewer outfits and have more time to slow down, explore the location, and get more variety within each look?
For Aly, I put together a creative plan that showed her two different options.
She could bring all seven outfits and keep the session moving at a faster pace. That would give her a lot of variety, but less time to really play around with each outfit.
Or, she could narrow it down to her five strongest looks and have more breathing room throughout the session. This option would give us more time to try different poses, use the flowers and scenery, and get more out of each look.
We decided the five-outfit option made the most sense for Aly. A couple of the looks she mentioned were not definite yeses yet and felt a little too similar to other outfits she had planned. Taking those out made the final lineup feel more intentional and helped us get better variety in her gallery.
And because we stayed on track and had a little extra time, we were even able to throw in one more look at the end, so she still ended up with six outfits total. :)
I also made her a full timeline for the session so she knew exactly what to expect before she even arrived. We had time blocked out for each outfit, changing, and a few final shots at the end. That way, the session could still feel relaxed while we stayed on track and made the most of our two hours.
That is one of my favorite parts of The Muse. You get the freedom to bring lots of ideas, but you also get my help figuring out what is actually going to work best. Whether you want a ton of outfits and a quicker pace or fewer outfits with more time to slow down, we build the plan around what matters most to you.
The Little Details Made It Feel Like Aly
Aly wanted to bring a flower bouquet and her Bible, which added such a personal touch to the session.
We also had the cutest idea to put flowers inside her cowboy boots for a detail photo. Those little ideas are what make a session feel more like a full experience instead of just taking pictures.
She wanted movement too, like running toward the camera, sun hitting her hair, and photos that felt candid and alive. I always guide you through posing, but I also leave room for movement and real moments so nothing feels forced.
