A few months ago, ON SET was just an idea...
I’ve always loved the creative process behind photography just as much as the photos themselves.
The styling. The mood boards. The outfit planning. The coffee beforehand. Meeting new people and the conversations that happen during a shoot. These are the things people don’t really get to see before they book.
I’m always thinking of ideas, usually while I’m walking my dog. I like to voice type into my notes app about shoot concepts and anything related to my business.
I’m always trying to stay ahead and be a trendsetter. I want my business and my work to offer things other photographers don’t. I pull inspiration from everywhere, not just photographers, but magazines, blogs, brand guides, creative directors. I want to be more than a photographer.
My whole brand is built around giving clients an experience, and I really wanted ON SET to give people a behind the scenes look at that experience.
That’s where the idea came from. Hosting an event that brought all of those things into one place. A day where people could see the behind the scenes, experience the creative process, and get a glimpse into how I approach photoshoots from start to finish.
the idea behind on set
What started as a concept quickly turned into something I couldn’t stop thinking about. I didn’t just want to talk about the creative process, I wanted people to actually step into it.
ON SET became a way to bring everything I normally keep behind the scenes into one space. Not just the final images, but everything that builds them.
The experience
From the moment people walked in, it was meant to feel like stepping into a live creative set.
Coffee from the cart, shopping curated clothing pieces, browsing upcoming shoot concepts, and capturing content throughout the space.
There were mood board stations featuring upcoming shoot ideas, styled sets built for interaction, and live camera tethering so people could actually see what was happening in real time instead of waiting for the final result.
Each person also received a guided photo experience with creative direction, 3 edited digital images sent straight to their phone, a printed photo strip, a curated goodie bag, and exclusive offers as part of the day.
ON SET was about being inside the process while it was happening.
ON SET was the first look at something I’ve been building behind the scenes...

The Ava Christine year-long membership built around intentionally designed photo experiences.
Instead of planning everything from scratch, each session is already fully curated. The concept, location, vibe, and direction are all decided ahead of time so you can just show up and be part of it.
Throughout the year, members choose their 4 favorite themed sessions from a lineup of curated experiences.
Members get priority booking & first access to these exclusive weekend dates with the option to bring friends or family.
There’s also $100 off full sessions and access to private, member-only experiences.
ON SET was the introduction to that world of creating a more experience-driven session.
